GRIDIRON CLUB MEETING - WED APR 8TH 7:00 PM IN HS BREADBOARD
College football camps are college-run events that give high school athletes the opportunity to train with and be evaluated by college coaching staffs. Players participate in drills, testing, and competitive sessions designed to showcase their skills and athletic ability. These camps provide valuable exposure to college programs while helping athletes understand the level of performance required to play football at the next level.

For the majority of high school players (especially for freshmen and sophomores) Division II and III camps offer the best "bang for your buck" in terms of actual football development. Unlike the FBS evaluation showcases, these programs often dedicate significant time to teaching fundamentals and position-specific techniques. Attending these camps allows a player to experience a college-level practice environment, receive high-quality coaching, and build a relationship with a staff that may track their progress over all four years of high school.
Parent Checklist for 2026 Camps
Academics: Always bring a paper copy of the student's unofficial transcript. At high-academic camps, this is the first thing a coach will ask to see.
Equipment: Most of these are non-contact. You generally only need cleats and a mouthpiece, but always check if a helmet is required for specific drills.
Eligibility: Most of these 2026 clinics are strictly for "Rising 9th–12th Graders." Make sure you are registering for the correct age group to ensure the drills are age-appropriate.
